Author Guidelines

Global Basketball Review (GloBaR) welcomes high-quality submissions related to basketball science, coaching, performance, sports technology, sports psychology, pedagogy, management, and interdisciplinary studies relevant to the development of basketball.

 

1. General Requirements

  1. Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
  2. Manuscripts must be written in English in a clear, concise, and academic style.
  3. The manuscript file should be prepared using Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).
  4. Similarity (plagiarism) must be below 20% as determined by Turnitin or equivalent tools.
  5. All submissions must follow the journal template provided on the journal website.

 

2. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized using the following headings:

2.1 Title Page

  • Title (maximum 15–20 words, clear and informative)
  • Author(s) full name
  • Affiliation(s)
  • Corresponding author's email
  • ORCID iD (recommended)

2.2 Abstract

  • 150–250 words
  • Written in a single paragraph
  • Includes: background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion
  • Keywords: 3–5 words or phrases

2.3 Main Text Structure

Depending on the type of article, use the following structure:

Research Article:

  • Introduction
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Conclusion

Review Article:

  • Introduction
  • Main Discussion / Thematic Sections
  • Conclusion

Short Communication / Case Study:

  • Introduction
  • Case Description / Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

 

3. Formatting Guidelines

  1. Length: 4,000–7,000 words (excluding references).
  2. Font: Trebuchet MS, 12 pt.
  3. Spacing: 1.0 line spacing.
  4. Margins: 2.5 cm (all sides).
  5. Page format: A4 size.
  6. Tables and Figures:
    • Numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)
    • Placed close to the relevant text
    • High resolution (300 dpi)

 

4. Citation and References

  1. GBR uses APA 7th Edition citation and reference style.
  2. References should include at least 25 sources, preferably from reputable journals published within the last 5 years.
  3. Citation examples:

In-text citation:

  • (Smith, 2025) or Smith (2025)

Reference list example:

Smith, J. (2025). Basketball performance analysis. Journal of Sports Science, 12(3), 100–110. https://doi.org/10.56855/globar.vXiX.XXXX

 

5. Ethical Considerations

  1. All research involving human participants must include an ethics approval statement.
  2. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  3. Any financial support or research funding must be acknowledged.
  4. Authors must follow the journal's Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

 

6. Submission Process

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted via the Online Journal System (OJS) at the GloBaR website.
  2. Authors must register and log in before submission.
  3. The submission should include:
    • Manuscript file (blinded for review)
  4. The journal uses a double-blind peer review process.

 

7. Review and Publication Process

  1. Initial screening by the editor (1–2 weeks).
  2. Double-blind peer review (2–6 weeks).
  3. Revision process (1–4 weeks).
  4. Acceptance decision by the Editor-in-Chief.
  5. Copyediting, proofreading, and publication.

 

8. Article Processing Charges (if applicable)

GloBaR may apply an Article Processing Charge (APC). Details will be updated on the journal website.

 

9. Copyright and Licensing

  1. Authors retain copyright of their articles.
  2. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license unless stated otherwise.
