Memahami Kompleksitas Hubungan Agama dan Budaya: Sebuah Kajian Kritis terhadap Pendekatan Kontemporer

Abstract
Artikel ini mengkaji ulang pemikiran Mark Hulsether dalam “New Approaches to the Study of Religion and Culture” dengan fokus pada kompleksitas hubungan antara agama dan budaya dalam konteks studi kontemporer. Melalui analisis kritis terhadap berbagai pendekatan teoritis, artikel ini mengeksplorasi keterbatasan paradigma tradisional dalam memahami interaksi antara agama dan budaya. Pembahasan mencakup kritik terhadap pendekatan reduktif dalam studi budaya, pentingnya mempertimbangkan dimensi historis-sosial, serta urgensi pengembangan kerangka analitis yang lebih komprehensif. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka dengan pendekatan analisis konten kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diperlukan paradigma baru yang mengintegrasikan berbagai perspektif dalam memahami dinamika agama dan budaya.
